In which I pay 40$ for winter to end

For the last two weeks it has been sporadically nice out. For example - Friday a week ago it was 70F, then Saturday it snowed 2in. This Monday I commuted via motorcycle for the first time since November - it was 37F when I left (that is too cold). My fingers were still cold at the end of my lecture (2 hours after coming inside). I resolved that this wouldn't happen again, and spent today buying warmer motorcycle gloves -

I drove 15 miles stopping at three shops to buy these. They are lined, waterproof and generally nice. As a result of these gloves my hands won't be cold on the bike again. I would like to say that my warmth is a result of the quality of these gloves, but I suspect it is more the umbrella effect. The weather was warmer than predicted this afternoon, and the forecast is for around 60F for the next week. I guess it was still worth it.

You know, you bring your umbrella with you and as a result it doesn't rain. So my new warm gloves made winter end.

Thanks to Paul and Matt who helped drag the bike up 5 steps out of the basement.

I thought you said your new warm gloves made winter end? it's 38 degrees outside! Better break them back out for this week's commutes.
