So a few posts ago I complained about the weaker parts of our (the Phillies) lineup. In particular I was very harsh to Pat Burrell. Pat is our highest paid player at 14.5 million dollars this year. He had a great beginning of the year, but in August and September had been dismal (batting below .200). In the playoffs however, he is turning it around. He pulled his average back up above 250, and has three huge homeruns. So way to go Pat.
In other news, how about our pitchers batting. Against Milwaukee, Brett Meyers had a great night at the plate going 1/2 with a BB. He drew the walk off C.C. Sabathia, and saw 19 pitches in two at bats. Crazy. His walk basically cost the Brewers the game.
Also, kudos to Cole Hamels, getting his 18th hit of the season today of Derek Lowe (the beginning of the end for Lowe). Watch out Z and CC.
GO PHILLIES!!
